Shipping & Receiving Floor Lead
POSITION BACKGROUND
Wisconsin Lighting Lab is seeking a driven and adaptable Shipping & Receiving Floor Lead to support our logistics and warehousing operations. This pivotal role on the shop floor ensures the seamless flow of incoming parts and raw materials, efficient storage, and proactive coordination with supervisors and operations managers to keep the production machine running smoothly. KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Receiving & Offloading: Safely and efficiently offload incoming trucks carrying parts and raw materials, verifying shipments with precision to ensure accuracy.
- Material Handling & Storage: Organize and position materials in the warehouse or at production cells, maintaining a streamlined and accessible inventory to fuel manufacturing.
- Production Coordination: Partner with supervisors and operations managers to prioritize material flow, anticipate production needs, and resolve bottlenecks to keep operations on course.
- Outbound Shipments: Oversee the preparation, packaging, and coordination of outbound shipments to ensure timely and accurate delivery to customers or partners.
- Operational Support: Act as a key support to operations managers, providing real-time updates on inventory status, identifying potential issues, and proposing solutions to maintain workflow efficiency.
- Process Optimization: Continuously seek ways to improve warehouse organization, material handling, and logistics processes, adapting to the evolving needs of the production environment.
- Safety & Compliance: Uphold strict safety standards, maintain a clean and organized warehouse, and ensure compliance with company policies and industry regulations.
QUALIFICATIONS
- High school diploma or equivalent; experience in logistics, warehousing, or supply chain are a plus.
- 2+ years of experience in warehouse operations, receiving, or shipping, ideally in a manufacturing or production setting.
- Proven ability to operate independently, prioritize tasks, and take initiative in a fast-paced environment.
- Strong communication and collaboration skills to work effectively with operations managers, supervisors, and production teams.
- Proficiency with inventory management systems and basic computer skills.
- Ability to operate forklifts, pallet jacks, and other warehouse equipment (certification preferred).
- Physical capability to lift up to 70 lbs and handle repetitive tasks like loading, unloading, and material movement.
- Commitment to maintaining a safe, organized, and efficient work environment.
